Challenge:
We see need for female teachers/mentors to encourage young women in school. Appropriate accommodation is essential to attract teachers to our rural setting.
Solution:
This remodeled facility houses our one female teacher (U.S. Peace Corps volunteer) and has facilities for up to four more new teachers we hope to attract to Bumpe High. Work was supported by Sierra Leone Rising and local workers.
Impact:
Female teachers/mentors/role models will be powerful positive influences on continuing education and life choices of BHS students, both females and males.
